Heather Findlay fell prey to the wine bug in 1997 after she was love-bit by a bottle of 1994 Groth Reserve Cabernet. Soon she noticed that whenever the wine list appeared at a restaurant, everyone at the table would point toward her. Friends would call her from a wine store, asking for guidance. One day her walk-in closet was gutted, insulated, equipped with a cooler, and filled with bottles. Finally, everyone just started calling her Wine Girl, and an alter ego was born.

Heather lives with her wife in San Francisco and spends weekends in Sonoma, California, on 16 acres near the Carneros appellation (no vineyards, sorry). She runs a small publishing company and wrote monthly wine columns for Girlfriends magazine. Please feel free to write her with tips, questions, and comments; clearly, she lives to talk about wine.

Jenni established the massive queer movie database, PopcornQ (at PlanetOut.com) and launched the first showcase for LGBT streaming media in 1995, the PlanetOut Online Cinema as well as founding the PlanetOut Short Movie Awards in 2000. As a film collector and archivist Jenni’s historical movie trailer programs (including the ever-popular: Homo Promo) have been shown at film festivals around the world, as have her many short films and her debut feature, The Joy of Life which world premiered at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. In addition to her vast curatorial experience (including stints at the Minneapolis/St. Paul and San Francisco LGBT Film Festivals) Jenni has written extensively about LGBT film since 1985 for publications too numerous to mention. Her wildly entertaining coffee table tome, The Queer Movie Poster Book was a 2005 Lambda Literary Award nominee.

In addition to being a helpful advisor to various filmmakers, Jenni is also on the advisory board of Outfest’s Legacy Project for LGBT film preservation. Her latest short film 575 Castro St. (shot on the set of Gus Van Sant’s Milk) is coming soon to a film festival near you. Kathy Valenti, ER Trauma Center Nurse by day, DJ by night, has played the Dinah for six years now. You best know her as the stunning blond in the bra behind the decks!
