The Dinah Named One of North America’s Best Festivals!

When Mariah Hanson started The Dinah in 1991, she had a vision: to create a lesbian world within a city. She hosted the first Dinah in the Palm Springs Modern Art Museum, packed local hotels with festival-goers, and invited national sponsors and performing artists to the event. And it sold out—Hanson and her creation have since shot to international fame, and the festival has become the biggest lesbian event in the entire world.

We couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished over the years. That’s why we’re excited to share with you the latest news: The Dinah was just named one of North America’s Best Festivals.

In the second part of their guide to North America’s Best Festivals in 2018 and 2019, Flightnetwork, North America’s leading travel agency, ranked us high amongst other huge festival names. Here’s what they had to say about us:

As organizers of The Dinah say, “There is no other [festival] like it.” That’s because The Dinah is the largest lesbian-identified event in the world. Yes, you read that right—this is the biggest festival of its kind; a women-centric wonder that seeks to empower and celebrate those living their lives to the fullest. And it does that by providing five full days of concerts, comedy sets, and enough dancing and pool partying to keep you busy. But most importantly, it’s about creating community—and given its size, we’d say it’s been successful thus far.

And we couldn’t agree more. We’re glad to see our work recognized along with some other festivals we admire, and look forward to 2019, which is slated to be the biggest Dinah yet. See you there! And be sure to check out FlightNetwork out on Facebook and Twitter.
